What is Really Driving the Pursuit of Enlightenment?

The pursuit of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment range in many varied belief systems often projecting or hoping for “some” perceived ideal of reward.

These mental projections about the path of Self-Realization can be quite numerous. The mental perception of what a path is or should be can engender the adoption of various Enlightenment personas, attitudes and belief systems. These personas and the perception of “rewards” can have their basis in many illusionary belief systems.

Yet, underneath it all is just one driving factor.

In reality there is just one common denominator that is driving a pursuit in a path of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment. This is the underlying desire to feel, experience and be Loved!

Observing many hundreds of people on a “path of Enlightenment” has been both fascinating and revealing. The most centrally observed behaviors have been that ultimately everyone has the same questions, desires and basically has to climb the same rungs of the ladder.

This process of advancing through higher levels of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment recognizes no class and honors no titles.

When conceptualizing about the path of Enlightenment, the mind can project many personas, illusions and often begins to “launch” these mental constructs and behaviors. Unfortunately, they are based upon illusionary mental creations and projections.

They are typically derived from strongly held “belief systems” frequently coupled with attached emotions highly guarding the fragility of these illusionary operating paradigms.

Fortunately, this hardened veneer hides a soft underbelly of truth and realness. When people present for Enlightenment coaching who have been on a “path” for a decade or more, they are almost all very frustrated that they did not get “it”.

Their minds typically wish to perceive “it” as some mental model of a “state” or perceived series of “states” that they should have attained such as the “states” that another being, their mind believes, has “attained” well.

The mind decides to emulate the perceived state of this other being ( in reality that other beings persona) as the mind’s model of “it”.

Has this mental goal really been what has been propelling the drive of “seeking” in a path of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment?

Thankfully, these strongly held models and belief systems generally quickly fall apart revealing more genuine emotional states underneath. As one consciously awakens and begins to observe two base level emotions typically are revealed.

These underlying illusionary emotional states are sadness and feelings of worthlessness. This begets the question “what illusion has the mind been operating on (almost always on subconscious levels) that has generated these feelings of worthlessness and sadness”?

Questioning reveals that the worthless feelings are generally related to questions of fulfillment of purpose of their lives. “If I become something of a high enough value, perhaps then I will be worthy enough to be Loved and receive Love”.

This leads us to the very base emotional state of “sadness”. Sadness is always related to the base illusion that somehow “I am not loved” ( the illusion of the original separation).

Isn’t that what we have all really been seeking? Is that really underneath everything in life? Isn’t that what we have been seeking is just to feel that we are loved?

Isn’t that what we have been trying to be worthy of?

Isn’t that the underlying driving force to the pursuit of Enlightenment and really just about all other actions and behaviors?

This desperate desire to be loved, with its illusion that “I must be worthy of being loved”, is the driving force behind human behaviors!

It is also the driving force for those who are “seeking” a path of Spiritual Awakening and Self Realization.

Ultimately who or what are we trying to be loved by?

We typically try to “wrench” it out of another being typically a partner. When that doesn’t work, we will try to seek this love from another.

“Perhaps a guru will be able to love me enough to fill this void inside”? However, within a few years or a few lifetimes that too will fail!

Finally, we realize that only God can love me that totally! So we try and try to experience God’s love from “out there”; however, we keep running into the feeling of “separation” (the “original illusion”).

Could it be that this separation is because we are looking for God outside of ourselves?

Who is God? Aren’t we God? Is God to be found inside of us or outside of us? If we are God whose love are we looking for?

If one is on a path of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment, one must awaken consciously into the reality of what “I” am really looking to attain!

I have worked with many hundreds of people the majority of which have been on a path of Spiritual Awakening for years; however, few can tell me what they are really looking for.

Haven’t we all really just been looking to be loved?

Isn’t that the real underlying purpose that almost everyone on an Enlightenment path really been seeking and trying to worthy of?

If we are seeking something, isn’t it useful to have a clear understanding of what we are searching for and why?

Let us ask ourselves some questions:

What am I really seeking for in a path of Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment?

Who is it that I am looking to love me?

How and where can I find this Love?

The Enlightenment path is the transition of awakening into these realizations from a mental concept to experientially being this awareness on a consciously awakened and “Enlightened” basis.

There is-never has-nor ever will be-or ever could be-a separation from God because you, I, we, all are that

God is within us

As Jesus said “seek yea the kingdom of God from within”

We are the love that we seek

I am that I am

We are all on a path of Spiritual Awakening. Everyone is already on a path of Enlightenment whether they consciously realize it or not.

No other aspect of life is as important, as wonderful and as rewarding than progressing powerfully and consciously through progressive levels of Spiritual Awakening and Self-Realization.

It is why we incarnated on to this plane. It is “the” universal dharma.

To travel this path with efficiency and certainty recognize that seeking is the seeking of being Loved.

Finding is the realization that You/I/ We are all God then the seeking of being Loved transforms into the expression of giving Love.

When one’s “Enlightenment” is accelerated to a full Christ consciousness level of Spiritual Awakening, then the light (Enlightenment) fuses with the Love creating compassion.

Christ consciously awakened compassion is the energy and consciousness that will ascend this planet and mankind!
